Fused deposition modeling (FDM®) produces geometrically stable parts that can easily be processed, painted or metallized. This technique is ideal for large parts with tight surfaces and prototypes made in this way can be used for functional or aesthetic validation.
Fused deposition modelling is an ideal solution to:

Used above all for large parts with few details, polymer fused deposition modeling enables the forming, over successive layers, of a 3D model from an STL file. This technique consists of melting a thermoplastic thread (ABS) using a nozzle heated to a high temperature. The sintered filament (to the nearest tenth of a millimeter) which comes out is deposited on the line and sticks to what has been deposited beforehand. In short, the part is built by depositing a melted thread extruded by a heated nozzle guided by data from the CAD.
