MOVINGLight® DLP FEATURES AND ADVANTAGES

The MOVINGLight® DLP, a technology patented by Prodways, is a process of photopolymerisation to produce prototypes or functional parts with a very high resolution and at very high speeds, by polymerising the photosensitive resins with moving DLP (Digital Light Processing) UV rays. Furthermore, this technology gives access to a wide range of premium materials: epoxy, acrylates, hybrid composites, ceramic, metal, … There are multiple applications:

  • Validating a design
  • Testing ergonomics
  • Marketing presentations
  • Moulds for lost-wax casting (ex: jewellery)
  • Master models for vacuum casting
  • Model for wind tunnels
  • Producing final functional parts
  • Producing dental models

THE MOVINGLight® DLP PROCESS

The model is recreated by successive layers of photosensitive epoxy, acrylate or composite resin under the action of a high-intensity ultraviolet laser. The moving DLP projects a very high resolution image 40 x 70 mm on the polymer resin surface and thus sweeps across the whole surface to polymerize the shape of the 3D model. Once one layer of the material has solidified, the platform drops to the value of the thickness of the following layer and a new section is solidified. In this way, there are as many cycles as necessary layers so as to obtain the full volume of the part. Manufacturing cycle:

  • Polymerisation of the layer (the resin hardens)
  • Shift of the platform of a layer (e.g.: -0.15mm) (downwards)
  • Re-coating = Applying an even layer of resin on the entire work surface
  • Polymerisation
