Vacuum casting ensures accurate duplication of a model using a silicone mold. It is undoubtedly the most economical production process for small series: prototype parts, pre-series or parts sold. A silicone mold costs less than a steel or aluminium production mold. The choice of material is as broad as for 3D printing, providing more possibilities: rigid polyurethanes, self colored ranges, transparencies, elastomers, silicones, etc. Parts are close to the end material.
