Special machinery and tooling design is one of the key applications of additive manufacturing, and this will be the focus of the first 3D MECALAB event, in Ostwald (France), on the 29th of November 2018.

Since 1980, the family-owned group MECASEM has been able to rely on strong expansion dynamics, a recognized technical know-how and a certification policy integrated into their corporate culture. In addition to their special machinery design skills, they established themselves as a leading industrial laboratory specialized in MATERIAL TESTS and METROLOGY. MECASEM laboratories are located in major industrial areas within France and Germany.

Since 2017, the group has embarked on an innovation path oriented towards the industry of the future, and more specifically towards additive manufacturing. This technology accelerates the development cycle of products combining freedom of design, reduced time to market and costs reduction.

In the fields of robotics and special machinery, the ability to quickly create innovative parts or assemblies is the key to success. For an engineer, designing a complete assembly already optimized for the final application, without the traditional manufacturing constraints (machining, welding, etc) is a true asset.

MECASEM has chosen to trust Prodways Group to support this change thanks to its global offer:

  • Avenao: Integration and training for SolidWorks (Dassault Systèmes) « Generative Design » and topology optimization for special machinery.
  • Prodways ProMaker P1000: Laser Sintering 3D printer (polymer powders) for serial production
  • Materials: Prodways PA12-L 1600, PA11-SX 1350, 1450 and GF 3450, the rubber-like TPU 70A and the new Polypropylene (PP)

This global offer enables MECASEM to offer its customers, whatever their business, a complete Additive Manufacturing offer, integrating consulting, studies, CAD, manufacturing, metrology, parts control and support for the evolution of the mindset relative to this new process.

In order to inaugurate this new activity and present the global digital chain, MECASEM is pleased to invite you to the inauguration of its workshop dedicated to additive manufacturing: 3D MECALAB.

Appointment on November 29th, 2018 at 2:00 PM in the Locals of Ostwald, Rue de Lingolsheim, 90.
